Access Control
Access control is a method of controlling movement of people, restricting access to unauthorised personnel or providing entry for authorised people. These systems can be as sophisticated or as simple as required i.e. controlling access for every access point or certain restricted areas. By using a conventional system of locks and keys a lost key can result in locks having to be replaced, all key holders being issued with new keys and restricted areas being unlocked due to human error. By implementing access control, electronic locks and readers provide the ideal solution. Access
methods can either be push button, magnetic swipe cards or proximity fobs.
As all keys are uniquely numbered, in the event of a lost key, the entry can be removed from the system and a new one issued, resulting in a completely secure system. Software can be configured to automatically monitor every access event which in turn could then be used for people movement management. In the event of an emergency all locks will be released to provide easy exit.
